About The Role.

The Client Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of accounting services for a portfolio of Guernsey-based Private Wealth and Corporate structures. The role is accountable for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation, review, and delivery of financial information while maintaining the highest levels of quality, compliance, and client service.

The Client Accounting Manager will manage and develop a team of accountants, ensuring that all accounting work has been reviewed to manager level and is complete, accurate and appropriately supported prior to submission for Guernsey review , and ensure all deliverables are produced in accordance with Group standards, regulatory requirements, and accounting best practice.

Your duties will include:

    • Lead delivery of accounting services for a portfolio of Private Wealth and Corporate structures, ensuring deliverables are completed in accordance with agreed deadlines, service standards and quality expectations
    • Plan, prioritise and allocate work across the team, proactively managing capacity, risks and delivery issues
    • Act as the primary point of escalation for operational, accounting and service delivery matters
    • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and client-facing teams to support a responsive and commercially focused service
    • Approve accounting deliverables for submission to the Guernsey team, taking ownership for the quality, completeness and accuracy of work produced by the team and ensuring all review procedures have been completed and review points resolved
    • Ensure all accounting outputs are accurate, complete, and supported by appropriate documentation prior to submission to the Guernsey team
    • Provide technical guidance and support to the accounting team on complex accounting matters areas of risk, ensuring the consistent application of accounting standards and best practice
    • Maintain effective financial controls and governance, ensuring applicable accounting standards, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are applied consistently across the team
    • Lead, motivate, and develop the client accounting team through effective performance management, coaching and professional development
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance, setting clear expectations and driving ownership of outcomes
    • Drive operational efficiency through standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives including the implementation of new systems, controls, and processes where required
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring audit request, queries and findings are addressed in a timely and effective manner

About you.

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in client accounting, fund administration, fiduciary services, private wealth, or corporate services.
  • Proven experience reviewing and approving financial statements, accounting schedules and complex accounting deliverables.
  • Proven experience leading, developing and managing accounting teams within a deadline driven service environment.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience applying accounting standards, financial reporting requirements and internal control frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
