About The Role.

As an HR Advisor you’ll often be at the front line of HR activities.  You’ll assist a busy HR department with all aspects of general HR matters to provide an efficient, responsive, high-quality HR administrative and advisory support to directors, managers, and employees in the designated office(s).  

It’s an exciting and varied role which requires excellent communication skills along with the ability to deal with various tasks simultaneously. You’ll need good listening skills, a confident approach and be able to act with discretion and the ability to handle confidential matters sensitively. 

HR Advisors need to be able to think on their feet and to expect the unexpected.  You’ll often find yourself in unfamiliar territory and you may need to draw on multiple skills to navigate yourself to a place for reflection or to access support. The ability to speak with confidence, to reassure, or to listen without agreeing are important skills for HR Advisors.   

This is a role that develops skills, as every day can give opportunities for learning. You’ll be involved in every stage of the employee lifecycle and will be the go-to person for all employee concerns.  From helping with payroll to hiring new team members and providing professional HR guidance and support to line managers and leaders with the objective of adding value to the business; in addition to making improvements and enhancements to core HR processes to improve operational efficiency. 

HR professionals require excellent written and verbal communications, high accuracy and organisational skills, and supreme attention to detail.  

This is a varied and challenging role, and the successful individual will support with generalist operational HR tasks, including but not limited to - employee relations, recruitment, engagement, performance management and data recording, and will also have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of project initiatives. 

Your duties will include:

  • Be the first point of contact for questions from managers and employees  
  • Respond or re-direct incoming questions and queries in a timely, professionally supportive and approachable manner 
  • Assist with all HR operational activities relating to the office 
  • Liaise with managers in the business on the identification and resolution of HR issues 
  • Liaise with the Senior HR team for support and advise on specialist disciplines 
  • Assist with the monthly payroll processing and/or checking, as well as monthly benefits administration 
  • Assist in the day-to-day administration of a busy HR function 
  • Maintain HR records, manage HR documents (e.g. employment records and onboarding guides) and update internal database 
  • Contribute to the HR department in supporting employees while conforming to relevant policies and procedures 
  • As and when needed, provide administrative support to the Heads of Talent, Learning & Development, and the Compensation & Benefits Manager 
  • With guidance from the Senior HR Manager, attend meetings as requested in connection with absence, probation, performance management, welfare, disciplinary etc.  
  • Support as note taker during formal meetings 
  • Coordinate activities for new starters to include welcome, induction, introductions etc.  
  • Assist in the monitoring of sickness absence, preparing reports and advising on the absence management policy 
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, and actively engage in activities to promote positive wellbeing and culture  
  • Preparing HR MI from the HRIS for the local office 
  • Provide support to HR projects as needed 
  • Any other ad hoc duties as they arise from time to time

About you.

Skills and Requirements: 

  • Experience working in a HR environment with solid understanding of employee lifecycle process and administration 
  • Currently hold or willing to work towards a HR qualification 
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and/or HRMS system  
  • Understanding of data recording and analysis
  • Excellent organisational skills 
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and negotiation abilities 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Reliable with adherence to confidentiality dictations
