We are proud to announce that one of our Trust Managers, Patrick Capelen, was recently presented with an award by STEP Isle of Man for having achieved the highest marks on the Island during 2018 for the overall STEP Diploma in International Trust Management. He also was presented with a second award for having achieved the highest marks in the Trustee Investment & Financial Appraisal module of the diploma. Patrick has since become a full member of STEP and is able to use the designation TEP (Registered Trust & Estate Practitioner).
Patrick received the two crystal awards on Wednesday 3rd December 2020 at the STEP Isle of Man AGM where they presented the awards to the students who successfully completed and achieved top marks in the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management during 2018 and 2019. Patrick was also awarded £500 to be donated to a local charity of his choice, Isle of Play.
Patrick said: ‘I’m very proud to be presented with this award by the board of STEP Isle of Man. It is a great organisation to be a part of and they do invaluable work in the ongoing development of the sector on the Island. The Diploma has certainly helped my own career progression and it is great to have been supported by Suntera throughout my studies.
As part of the award the sponsors of the awards are donating £500 to my chosen charity – it’s a real added bonus to nominate a cause I feel passionate about – local charity Isle of Play, which does some fantastic work with Isle of Man children by providing and advocating opportunities to fulfil their ‘Right to Play’. It’s wonderful to support an organisation that operates so transparently, where every £1 donated goes directly towards play initiatives and working with children around the Island.’
