Suntera Global, the independent provider of bespoke fund, corporate, and private wealth services, has been appointed as the fund administrator of a newly incorporated Protected Cell Company (“PCC”), initially establishing two innovative Guernsey-domiciled investment fund cells launched by Thornbridge Investment Management.
The launch of Fundline PCC Limited not only marks a significant milestone for Thornbridge in delivering innovative fund solutions to investment managers and advisers, but also for Guernsey as a leading jurisdiction for cutting-edge cross-border fund solutions and sustainable finance.
The initial cells will be launched as part of the structure are ‘Green Fund Cells’ under Guernsey’s Green Fund framework – and are the first to have been approved by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission as a ‘Class B Scheme’ for investors. This will enable the cells to use the Guernsey Green Fund designation.
By establishing the structure in this way, Fundline aims to provide a flexible, efficient and accessible platform for launching bespoke investment strategies, backed up by Guernsey’s robust and pragmatic regulatory environment.
As well as supporting initial set-up support for the PCC and cells, Suntera Global’s team in Guernsey will also provide ongoing administration and operational experience to the fund structures.
The cells are being launched in collaboration with Resilience Asset Management, who will act as the investment advisor for both structures. In addition, Carey Olsen has acted as legal advisor from the initial drafting of the fund documents, applications to the GFSC and has provided guidance through to GFSC approval and fund launch, whilst Butterfield Bank (Channel Islands) Limited has been actively engaged throughout the process and will act as custodian.
Commenting on Suntera’s involvement, Ian Horswell, Head of Business Development – EMEA and APAC at Suntera, said:
“This is a cutting-edge investment fund structure that aims to draw both on Guernsey’s first-class regulatory framework for supporting cross-border fund solutions, but also leans heavily into its green finance capabilities. I’m really pleased that our team in Guernsey has been able to support Thornbridge with the launch of these new cells in what is a first for the jurisdiction. As well as reflecting our strengths as a trusted administrator with strong operational governance, it also showcases our capabilities in servicing complex and innovative fund structures such as PCCs to meet tailored investor needs.”
James Bedford, Partner at Thornbridge Investment Management, commented:
“The launch of these new cells under Fundline PCC marks an exciting step forward for Thornbridge. Our partnership with Resilience Asset Management reflects our shared vision of delivering innovative, high-integrity investment solutions. We are also pleased to be working with Suntera Global and Butterfield, two highly regarded firms whose operational excellence will underpin the success of this initiative.”
