Business Development Director

Due to our continued growth in our funds department, we are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced individual to help us grow even further.

As Business Development Director, you will be responsible for positioning, developing and growing our Alternative Investment fund administration business in terms of volume, quality, revenue and profitability. This will include identifying and pitching for business within the alternative investment fund space, with the target client base including private equity funds, real estate, debt, venture capital, and infrastructure funds.

You will also have the opportunity to:

• Win new client relationships for the business and enhance our company’s footprint in Jersey, Isle of Man, Cayman and across the wider business;
• Develop a strong pipeline of profitable opportunities that align to our target client market sets, including private equity and real estate;
• Create strong relationships with business heads, managing directors, peers and colleagues to ensure effective visibility and increased workability to deliver the jurisdiction and BD business plan;
• Foster a culture of growth to ensure new business grows in line with expectations, including engaging with divisional counterparties to identify and follow up on cross-selling opportunities;
• Assess market developments and competitive positioning in terms of products and services; and
• Planning and overseeing new business initiatives in conjunction with the Group’s Global Head of Funds.

You will be an experienced individual with a strong knowledge of the alternative investment fund sector, specifically private equity, venture capital, real estate, debt, and infrastructure funds. The following attributes would also be advantageous:

• A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in fund administration;
• A solid track record of business development in fund administration as well as a strong network in the alternative investment fund space;
• A relevant professional table 4 qualification recognised by the JFSC, such as STEP/ICSA Diploma, ACCA or Law/Accountancy degree;
• Established relationships across fund managers and a high market profile in the AIF community including law firms, accountants, advisers etc.;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels;
• A solution-drive attitude to problems;
• Prepared to travel to secure new relationships and opportunities; and
• The ability to work using your own initiative and make decisions within corporate policies.
